Fasting is wrong but intermittent fasting is good.
It is not actually fasting. It is just delay in time to eat your meals. Intermittently eating your meals helps you lose weight.


Intermittent fasting can be different from person to person. It can be of 12 hours or 14 hours or 16 hours. It is best to do fasting overnight. If you eat at 7 p.m. in the evening , just have your breakfast at 11 a.m. this is 16-hour fasting. You can initially start with 12-hour fasting and increase the time period of your fasting.

How this helps?

When you don’t eat for a long period of time, your body demands energy. To get this energy we need glucose which we take from our food. But skipping the food will make you glucose deficient.
So, your body will use the energy by breaking the already stored glucose in the form of glycogen.
Thus, your body starts using energy from your own body helping you lose weight. But when we keep on taking meals at short intervals, the body is using energy from food and the extra glucose is being stored in the form of glycogen.

This is not fasting nor dieting.

You don’t have to avoid any foodstuff. You don’t have to cut off your calories. It is just reducing your meal. Or you can say, just having your one meal at the bigger interval.
If you are eating your last meal of the day at 7 p.m. then have a good heavy plate of breakfast at 11 a.m. and around 2 p.m. Have green tea. Around 4 p.m. again have a good heavy meal to provide you energy for the rest of the day. Around 6 p.m. have one full plate salad or sprout chat. This helps you in digestion and sprouts adds to your protein content. By this, you can count on your calories as well as use your body stored energy form. You won’t feel low.

How to control cravings for food?

It might be difficult initially to control. But when you have a target to lose weight, it’s not that difficult to have self-control. Just do your regular exercise or workout. Make yourself busy. Keep yourself involved in some activities. Drink a lot of water. 
When it is really out of your control, you can have green tea in between. And I really don’t feel it’s that difficult because most people awake late in the morning around 9 a.m. and after that only 2 hours are left to your so-called fasting. You can wake up late or can do workout early morning. But if you sit idol, yes, you gonna have cravings and will be out of control. So, don’t let your craving gulp you a lot of food.
